Ibaadah and Levels of Love

Ekim 26, 2006

Al-‘Ibaadah which we are commanded to perform includes the meaning of humility and love, it contains extreme humility before Allah (SWT) together with the extreme love for Him (AWJ). The uppermost level of love is the extreme adoration (Tatayum) and its lowermost level is the interest, because the heart is first interested in the beloved. After the interest comes the affection, then the love, and finally the extreme adoration. In Arabic “Taym-u-Allah” (the adorer of Allah) is used to mean “Abd-u-Allah” (the worshiper of Allah) because the adorer is the one who yields completely to his lover.

The Status of Applying Other Than the Divine Laws

Ekim 26, 2006

Allaah, the Exalted, said: “And He who does not rule by what Allaah has revealed it is they who are the unbelievers.” (5:44)

This Ayah signifies that ruling by laws other than those revealed by Allah constitutes infidelity. This type of infidelity is either major which entails apostasy, or minor which does not constitute apostasy depending on the ruler’s attitude. If he believes that the laws of Allaah are not binding, and that he has a choice, or he took them lightly, or believed that man-made laws are better than the Divine laws, because the former are not suitable for this time and age, or if he wants to satisfy the infidels and hypocrites by so doing, then he commits major infidelity. But if he believes that the laws of Allaah are binding and knows the respective laws are relevant to the case he is handling, and yet he opted to rule by otherwise, recognizing that his deed is wrong, and would be subject to punishment, then such a ruler is disobedient who has committed minor Kufr or disbelief. But if he was ignorant of the respective Divine law and tried his best and utmost seeking it, but missed it, he would have committed an error, but he would be rewarded for exerting the effort to reach the proper judgment and, whose error would be forgiven [At-Tahawiyah p.363-364].

Signs of Allah’s Existence

Ekim 26, 2006

“O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may acquire taqwa (piety).

Who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a canopy, and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith fruits as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals unto Allah (in worship) while you know (that He alone has the right to be worshipped.”

Shirk in Obedience

Ekim 26, 2006

[Major shirk can be divided into four categories:
– The first category of major shirk is “associating in supplication”, which involves directing one’s supplications to other than Allah as a means of gaining provisions or being cured from a sickness or obtaining help during a crisis or for any other purpose.
– The second category of major shirk is “association in the intention”, that is, performing deeds that may be good in themselves but which are done for the sake of this worldly life and not for the sake of Allah.
The third category of major shirk is “association in loving Allah”. That is to love someone or something else more than or as much as one loves Allah.
The fourth category of major shirk is “association in obedience” which is to obey people when they make unlawful things lawful, and to believe that it is permissible to follow those who make such legislations.
Here we discuss the fourth category.]

Ruling by other than what Allah revealed

Ekim 26, 2006

Among the requirements of believing in Allaah, the Exalted, and worshipping Him is submitting to His judgment, and contentment with His laws, and the referral to His book and to the Sunnah of His Messenger (SAW), in disputes with regards to statements, fundamentals, litigation’s, blood, properties, and the rest of rights. For Allaah is the ultimate Judge and judgment ultimately pertains to Him. It is incumbent upon the rulers to rule by what Allah revealed, and it is incumbent upon the subjects to seek judgment from the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (SAW).

With regards to rulers, Allaah says: “Verily, Allaah commands you to deliver the trust committed to you to their due owners, and that when you judge between people, to judge with justice.”(4:58)

Allah’s Words: [They were] Moved by Wrong Thoughts About Allah – Thoughts Which Belonged to the Jahiliyyah.

Ekim 26, 2006

Allah subhanahu wa ta`aala says:

“[They were] Moved by Wrong Thoughts About Allah – Thoughts Which Belonged to the Jahiliyyah: They said: “Is the matter anything to do with us?” Say to them: “Verily, the matter is for Allah.” They hide within themselves what they would never reveal to you: They say: “If the matter had been left with us, none of us would have been killed here.” Say: “Even if you had remained in your homes, those for whom death was written would have gone forth to their deaths.” But [all this was] that Allah might test what is in your hearts and purge what is in your hearts, for Allah knows well the secrets of your hearts.” (3:154)

ALLAH’A İMAN

Ekim 26, 2006

S. Yüce Allah’a iman etmenin anlamı nedir?
C. Zahiriyle, batınıyla, ameli olanıyla, sözlü olanıyla, bütün ibadet çeşitlerinin yalnızca yüce Allah’a yapılması, kim olursa olsun Allah’ın dışındaki bütün varlıklar hakkında ibadetin hiçbir şekilde kabul edilmemesi demektir. Yüce Allah şöyle buyurmaktadır:
“Rabbin şunları hükmetti: Kendisinden başkasına ibadet etmeyin.” (el-İsra, 17/23);
“Allah’a ibadet edin, O’na hiçbir şeyi ortak koşmayın.” (en-Nisa, 4/36);

(el-Hucurat, 49/7)
“O halde Allah’a ve Rasûlüne iman edin.” (el-Araf, 7/158)
