Allah Is The Rich, You Are The Poor

Kasım 20, 2006

This is a fact that none can escape, yet you go after the treasures of the world and renounce the Lord of Truth.

“Know that the life of this world is but a play and a passing delight and a beautiful show, and the (cause of) your boastful) vying with one another, and (of your) greed for more and more wealth and children.” [57:20]

The Status of Applying Other Than the Divine Laws

Kasım 20, 2006

Allaah, the Exalted, said: “And He who does not rule by what Allaah has revealed it is they who are the unbelievers.” (5:44)

This Ayah signifies that ruling by laws other than those revealed by Allah constitutes infidelity. This type of infidelity is either major which entails apostasy, or minor which does not constitute apostasy depending on the ruler’s attitude. If he believes that the laws of Allaah are not binding, and that he has a choice, or he took them lightly, or believed that man-made laws are better than the Divine laws, because the former are not suitable for this time and age, or if he wants to satisfy the infidels and hypocrites by so doing, then he commits major infidelity. But if he believes that the laws of Allaah are binding and knows the respective laws are relevant to the case he is handling, and yet he opted to rule by otherwise, recognizing that his deed is wrong, and would be subject to punishment, then such a ruler is disobedient who has committed minor Kufr or disbelief. But if he was ignorant of the respective Divine law and tried his best and utmost seeking it, but missed it, he would have committed an error, but he would be rewarded for exerting the effort to reach the proper judgment and, whose error would be forgiven [At-Tahawiyah p.363-364].

Al-Hafeedh, One of Allah’s Beautiful Names

Kasım 20, 2006

Another one of His beautiful Names is the All-Heedful and All-Protecting (Al-Hafeedh). This encompasses two matters. First, He is Heedful of all the actions that humans perform by His Knowledge, recording and ordering His noble recorders to record all that humans do. Second, He protects His slaves from all kinds of hardship and evil. More particular than that is His special protection for those slaves who guard and enact what He has commanded and protect themselves for Him in secret by preserving their Faith from any shortcoming or fault. He protects them and guards them from any slip or mistake. He protects for them their religion and worldly life. Allah’s Messenger (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Guard Allah(‘s Commands) and He will guard and protect you.” [Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi, al-Haakim. Al-Albaani has declared it Sahih in Sahih al-Jami` as-Sagheer #7957]

That is, guard His Commands by fulfilling them, guard His prohibitions by avoiding what He has prohibited, guard the limits He has set by not exceeding them, then Allah will guard and protect you in your religion and worldly affairs.

Allaahu Akbar (Allaah is Greater)

Kasım 20, 2006

Allaah – the Most High – says:

“But He will call you to account for what your hearts have earned.” [Soorah al-Baqarah (2):225]

“The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail, except he who comes to Allaah with a clean and pure heart.” [Soorah ash-Shu`araa 26:88-89]

The Prophet sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam said:

“Indeed, there is a piece of flesh in the body; if it is sound, then all the body is sound. However, if it is diseased, then all the body is diseased. Truly that is the heart.” [Al-Bukhaaree 1/126, Muslim 1599 from Nu`maan ibn Basheer radhiallahu `anhumaa]

Al-Lateef, One of Allah’s Beautiful Names

Kasım 20, 2006

From His beautiful and excellent Names is the Ever-Discreetly Gentle (al-Lateef). He is the One Who is so Discreet in His Actions that He discerns the hidden and secret, and what the hearts are filled with. He also perceives what is in the lands, of enclosed grains and seeds. He is Ever-Gentle with His devoted slaves and makes things easy for them and keeps them away from difficulties. He makes the path to His Pleasure and Generosity easy for them. He protects them from every and means that may lead to His anger. This is through means that they may perceive as well as means that they do not perceive. He also decrees matters for them that they dislike in order for them to be granted what they love. He is Gentle with them with respect to their own souls as He guides them to His beautiful ways and His noble creations. He is Gentle with them with respect to matters that are external to them with every goodness and righteousness. The name Al-Lat.eef is close in its meaning to Al-Khabeer (the Well-Acquainted with all things), Al-Ra`oof (the Clement) and Al-Kareem (the Generous).

Abu Bakr’s Caliphate

Kasım 20, 2006

We affirm that the caliphate after the Prophet was, first and foremost, deserving of Abu Bakr, believing in his superiority and seniority over the rest of the Ummah.
This is our opinion. However, the Ummah disagreed over the nature of Abu Bakr’s succession. Was it by the Prophet’s command, or was it simply a choice? Hasan al-Basri and a group of people from the Ahl al-Hadith believe it was by dint of command, although subtle and indirect, coming from the Prophet (saws). Some of them in fact have said that it is proven by the texts. However, some others of the Ahl al-Hadith. the Mu’tazilah and Ash’ariyyah have said that it was established by choice and consent.

Elevation or Crucifixion of Jesus?

Kasım 20, 2006

Allah says:

“And when Allah said: ‘O Jesus! I will take you and lift you up to Me, and purify you of those who disbelieve, and will make those who followed you above those who disbelieved until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me shall you all return, and I shall judge between you in that which you dispute.’” (3:54,55)
